CO-AUTHORED PUBLICATION
Supporting data accessibility, integration, curation, interoperability, and reuse for precision animal modeling.
Uno-Antonison et al. · JOSS 8(90), 5443 · Published October 1, 2023
The research context
Rosalution is an open-source application supporting rare-disease research and precision animal modeling. Its purpose is to make research information accessible, connected, and reusable across the work of researchers and physicians.
My contribution
I developed Rosalution with the UAB team, implemented its system test suite, and added code-coverage metrics to its CI/CD pipeline. I am a co-author of the 2023 Journal of Open Source Software paper.
This was collaborative work. The publication and public repository credit the wider team; my focus here is the development and validation work I contributed.
Related work at UAB
From July 2019 to August 2023, I also built backend REST APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation for Delphi, developed the phenotype-driven variant-prioritization tool Hazel, and investigated software, data, and environment issues affecting research workflows.
A hospital platform delivered over a weekend
For an emergency UAB Hospital COVID-19 testing platform, I served as the final QA and integration gate: reviewing merge requests and running unit, integration, and regression tests. The team moved from a Friday planning meeting to deployment the following Monday.
