The central decision
Keep storage and orchestration on the NAS, while moving playback and encoding to hardware better suited to those tasks. That avoids putting every workload on the NAS CPU.
The operational work
Automated maintenance covers container updates, library cleanup, and remount checks. HTTPS routing and certificate renewal support access to services. The public runbook records tradeoffs, failures, and recovery steps.
Automatic updates reduce manual work but can introduce regressions. Logs and version pinning remain part of the recovery approach.
